This Is It.

  • Nov. 2nd, 2009 at 10:34 AM

Finally caught the movie after such a long wait.. I've actually booked the movie when it first came out for fear of the movie selling out muahahahahaha.. So finally after bout a month's wait, i finally watch the movie at <Insert my favourite cinema here>.. Is a secret to where i always watch my movies hee!

The movie overall i thought was great! Actually couldn't really consider it to be a movie more of like a documentary film. So for those who are actually complaining about the dialogues in the film, hello? You live in outer space? It's not a movie so if you want more actions and dancing and singing, go get his past concerts or watch youtube.

Personally, it actually made you want to see more, it wasn't really enough to satisfy the crave. I suppose he has too much hits to perform in a single concert. When the ending came, I was like "er?" and thinking back, actually it's rather weird how he just moved on... When the movie ended, the whole cinema actually applauded.. It's rather pleasing to see such in Singapore because errr <Insert all the insults here> yup..

I'm feeling so Jacko today ^^

Breakfast @ Club Chinois

  • Sep. 26th, 2009 at 10:59 PM

Haven't been here for awhile and had the sudden urge to eat here again hee! So... it was an early morning trip down to orchard parade hotel at 12pm. I always liked sitting at the Tall and High seats. Somehow it felt special and nice there. But only to my horror, I have to ask for the seats when I made my reservation (which I didn't) saded..

So here goes nothing with the pictures (the full set can be found in my shutterfly, not much difference though):

We arrived 12 sharp at the rest.

So they started serving after about 15mins of waiting time which is rather reasonable. This dish was definitely the best fried rice I've eaten in my entire life haha. Rice was fried was minced Wagyu beef and it had this very tasty flavour to it which I still can't forget till now.

Then came my favourite dish, the chinese spinach with tofu and erm I think it was tofu puffs on top? I can't really remember what it was but this is my favourite in this restaurant. Tofu is puffy and spinach is fresh to the point of "Pluck, chop, cook, serve" state.

Next up is their Cod Fish with Egg White. Cod fish didn't had this weird smelly fish taste to it which was good and I'm not really a fish person so I would actually prefer the egg white over the fish haha. But nonetheless, fish was really nice and smooth and the condiment of egg white just made it better.

Following up, beef tenderloin with brisket. I always liked the basket over the beef. Not one of the most fantastic beef tenderloin I've eaten but is good to a certain extend. But then again, the basket is really crispy and I think it's made out of sweet potato? Don't quote me ^^

Decided to order some Dim Sum and came Char Siew Bao which is good but not that fantastic. Nothing special about the bun, is just a bun to me. Maybe I'm not a big fan of Dim Sum I suppose.

Siew mai was always my preferred Dim Sum of all. The siew mai I have to say that is good. The meat are rather filling and I really loved the outer skin. It is not dry, not thick and is smooth just like a slightly thicker strip of candyfloss (less off the sticky feeling). Siew mai was chunky and nice.

Fried Garlic Roasted Chicken Drumstick was definitely good. I always liked this dish as well. The meat is soft, skin is extremely crunchy and the whole of it is just unbelievable. The taste to it is kind of like a cross between peking duck and roasted chicken. Fabulous dish!

Duck meat salad. The duck meat was deep fried in god-knows-what-flour style. I think it was quite normal for this dish and I actually preferred the big fat juicy mushroom at the bottom compared to the duck meat.

Overall, I don't think that they have had their standards reduced. Food quality was not compromised in anyway. But the dim sum can be better I suppose. But then again, they have this really cheap Dim Sum Buffet which I think was only about 20++ per pax. So they could have thought it was part of the buffet order and didn't made it that well? And again, don't quote me. Otherwise, the Jasmine fried rice was something new I tried today and I won't forget anytime soon. It was really very delicious and I really loved it.

There were a few pictures not posted and not taken because at points of time, I was too engrossed eating that I forgot to take photos hee! I always wanted to take photo at club chinois but somehow can't remember doing so. This time, it's at request or I can't be bothered! hahaha... So if you would like to visit this place, please do so. I've always promoted them well and recommended them. So far, haven't heard anyone complaining about the food to me, but if you do, everyone have different preference of food liking so.. yea..

O.. something extremely important, if you ever step in this place, try not to order Sprite haha.. Check out prices of drinks before you order them apparantly, they don't show the pricing of drinks until the bill came and i got a shock of my life haha. Otherwise, all's fine and as always, no complains at all about this place. =)

Birthday Dinner @ Villa Seafood Galleria

  • Jul. 18th, 2009 at 12:52 PM

It was my parent's birthday and so we decided to treat them and ourselves to a nice sumptious meal (apparantly not so) heeh! So we went over to labrador's Villa Seafood Galleria and had our dinner there. It was about a 7-course dinner, can't really remember the exact details but then, the best food of the night i suppose is the Peking duck! I don't understand how can Peking duck be so delicious no matter made by who and where. The pictures can be found at my shutterfly album...

And also the fact that i have actually bought myself this gummy pack that hs mario characters inside!! And guess what i got? -_-

Very Nice Pack eh!!

And of all damn characters, i have to get this : -_-

Vball!

  • May. 2nd, 2009 at 4:55 PM

It's either the fact that i'm old or that i haven't been exercising for the past year or so that my whole body is actually aching now! I guess is the latter. Yesterday's vball was an invitation too! By smelly! If not for her, i wouldn't actually start vball after so long! It was a great wholesome day at sentosa with the fun and the friendly matches that we had! There were beginners and pros that we played throughout. It was a a great day yesterday and a bad day today, considering the post effects of sun-burn skins and aching body!

With the overly burnt body and face, one need to treat the body back to shape, so, lucky i had my wonderful range of body products to keep my skin better and also i started using one of the paul and joe serum facial mask which was supposed to be intensifyingly moisturing! Bah! Hahah.. And i had my grandmother visiting me in the wee hours last week.. Frightening! lol

(I think is my grandmother? lol)

 (some facial treats hehe)

Surprise !

  • Apr. 4th, 2009 at 7:27 PM

Woooo!! Today had a big surprise eh!! Went over to 10 @ claymore and they actually are having a promotion for UOB card-members.. 50% off for buffet lunch hehe.. I like ;)

Well, the buffet lunch wasn't really a spread nor the food was really wonderful.. But the price is dirt cheap.. The total bill for one person actually came up to about only 19 max.. Hahaha.. So cheap right.. But the food quality was ok i only liked the cream chicken and the rest erm.. Yar the coconut tarts were that great.. The fruit salad was good.. Hmm.. Lemme slowly explain myself!

This was the mains that i took. It conprises of fried rice, fried thing which i don't know what it is, mussels with gravy, veggies with various mushrooms stir fried in shallot oil and my favourite cream cheese chicken which i thought was the yummiest. The fried rice was very normal, there wasn't much taste or special flava to it. The fried thing, my mum could very well do better than that, the mussels were pretty ok as it didn't had this very weird seafood taste to it, the veggies, still again done in mum's style. However the cream chicken, was flavafull, had a great taste of cream cheese to it and the skin was nicely roasted and crispy ;)

Corn chowder soup is next. The soup has this very thick and weird taste to it. So.. bah.. very bad :S

Desserts.. Hmm sad to say but only the coconut tarts were that great and not forgetting the big fat strawberry that i had. It tasted like the one i ate that was from korea, sweet, big, fat and juicy. Nonetheless, extremely tasteful!

Well, to end off something positive, these strawberries really taste like the ones i bought. It was really this big, juicy and sweet. I wish i had more servings of the strawberries!

Well, people who knows me, know that my mouth cannot stop.. But somehow, this buffet isn't really that great to end off with. Hmmm.. I was expecting better. But then again, for $19 per person, please seriously don't expect too much ok! That is the reason why i never liked buffet!! The food is always bad!! But then again, it might be beacuase of the promotion they are having. But, is definitely not a good place for me to come back again, which is unless for the marble score 9 wagyu! PEACE OUT!

Welcome the new members!

  • Mar. 16th, 2009 at 8:02 PM

It's been a great great great weekend! I had done so much things in the weekend that i hardly can believe it too! I have gotten myself a new phone, a new wallet, a new internet connection!! Besides, i helped out my sister at the flea market and it was crazy! It's the first time that i'm trying to help her sell some stuffs and basically everyone was snatching up stuffs cos it was too cheap. But it was overall fun, minus off the insanely hot weather and unpredictable wet weather later. I rewarded myself with a sumptous meal after and headed home. It was such a meaningful weekend!

At the very last, i have finally gotten my driving license!! OMG!! so exciting right? lol.. :)

PASSED!

  • Feb. 23rd, 2009 at 9:14 PM

I hate it! I went for my examinations on saturday and although i passed, i'm still very upset now.. cos i think that the results wasn't really that fantastic! After i asked the invigilator over, she was like "Yes! you passed!!" I didn't even acknowledge anything and just packed my stuff i think she might have thought i was quite rude,, But then again sorry.. It wasn't the results i was expecting.. I was hoping to score at least 86.. But that was so dissapointing.. O well.. I hope i can do better in my next paper which is like couple weeks from now.. Craps!

Lucky Lucky!!

  • Feb. 16th, 2009 at 7:47 PM

Hmmm.. My next holiday destination.. Bangkok!! I mean yes again? But then, it's cheap, great for shopping and of course, i have to stress the point, CHEAP! My birthday is just around that little corner soon. If you wanna help me, please provide me cash so that i may save up enough for my trip lol. I'm looking forward to the trip because i wanna stay in banyan tree! I just went to the website and saw the beauty of the place. I hope i would be able to get some discounts for it! It's absolutely gorgeous and the scenic, is unbelievable. You have to see it, to know it. Like they always say, NPNT, here goes nothing:

Double the mimi fun!

  • Feb. 1st, 2009 at 8:49 PM

Yea!! I finally got 2 copies of mimi concert! After watching the adventures of mimi dvd concert tour, i was day-dreaming about "if-i-were-in-her-shoes"! it was a time-off for some dreaming session haha.. It was really nice to see how the concert came together with the behind-the-scenes addition. I was hoping that one fine day, she would actually come to singapore! Damn the SARS period.. I booked my ticket and it was cancelled!! And now with the mimi tour ended, i'm hoping that she would make a stopover the next time round.. And please.. No more $500 ticket ok! Hahaha.. Something priced like $300 would be reasonable! :)

School!

  • Jan. 6th, 2009 at 10:17 PM

Gosh! I'm actually starting school the very next day. Somehow when i was heading out today, i felt so lethargic and tired. Just got my basic line of stationaries and will be packing em soon! I wonder how will class turns out tomorrow! I hope the mates were just as cool, or at least half back then. I really don't hope for shitty mates!

Presently work is somehow ok! I wouldn't say it's darn perfect neither nor bad. It just ain't the same as with HSBC then. Somehow, somewhat, somewhere, there seems to be something missing, like how a puzzle can't be completed cos of a missing piece. I'm still trying to fix it, or maybe i just can't get myself to be adapted?

I don't know.

Extra-Super-Upsize

  • Dec. 10th, 2008 at 9:10 PM

I always can't seem to find the right subject title. Anyway, that's not the main point! I've just had like the largest piece of cookie in my entire life. Cookie as big as my hands. Don't believe me? I always learnt, NPNT, so here goes nothing!!

(PST: what you will be seeing is only half of what i broke. Other half will be my breakfast tomorrow!)

A Brand New Start

  • Dec. 7th, 2008 at 12:29 PM

It's like a totally different enviro. From working in a bank to my current working place. It's like a totally downgrade. I still see some of the familiar terms and names that i come across with, having worked in in a bank before. The current enviro is different as to the people i met. I don't know how to start up topics with them and also what to say to them. I suppose its' new?

The long weekends are finally here, maybe i should stop ranting and look towards the great holiday! I've gotten my christmas presents for our next outing and it's really cool! I just came across this article about being happy. Being happy spreads the happiness around like some form of contagious disease. Being happy actually produces less stress hormones and eventually boosting up your immunity level. How cool is that?

Maybe we should all start off now and start living healthier each and every minute ^^

Puma™

  • Sep. 14th, 2008 at 9:47 PM

The official brand merchandise for me haha.. Started falling in love with puma when i realised how great their stuffs can look with also that touch of good pricing. Hmm.. Well, the next time you step into a puma store, some people may just walk away, but i just shopping around for their stuffs. Time to get my rack to 10 pairs of puma!!

Today's been a rather great day. My office finally have new collections again. Hopefully tomorrow will turn out to be a great day without any major clogs up. I reckon it would be like my chance to prove. I hope. Cross fingers.

Surprises.

  • Sep. 13th, 2008 at 11:07 PM

Today was a wonderful day and i had actually met this very old friend of mine. Haven't seen her in quite awhile yet she's still looking that great. Though we hardly ever contacted each other, i still treat her like a very close friend of mine. So near yet so far? She's also been that active little girl that i knew since my lower secondary school in my volleyball team.. Hmm..

Anyway's, today has been quite a furious day too. Actually had someone buying a wallet off my friend. As conversed, the item was actually been used and definitely not brand new. When been notified that it's not brand new, the buyer should actually be liable to check the item and eventually, confront on the spot. Without checking for any flaws and agreeing that it's ok, the money was handed over and case closed.

Only to realise that there are SLIGHT crease, not even wrinkles, the person retorted with replies like didn't even inform them of creases, RUNNING away from them (like hello, we stood there for quite awhile before we so called, "ran off"), DEMANDING refunds, didn't inform them of sales policy and such. Like excuse me, it is a item that worth only $130. It's not even like a hermes wallet or what. If you're in such hard need of cash, i seriously recommend that you get a billabong wallet. Cheap good and great quality for like $30?

If you can afford things like a coach wristlet or a kate spade bag, i have no reason why you would get a 2nd hand product off us. Or maybe, your whole body are just 2nd hand worth. If you can't afford a wallet that cost like $200, seriously, don't push your luck into getting one. If you are rich, buy my bag.

  • Sep. 7th, 2008 at 10:08 PM

Hmm.. Been looking at the bag for quite sometime but still waiting for opportunity to buy it. At least i give myself a week before the deciding factor haha.. Recently been feeling quite tensed up due to alot of factors. Can't imagine that i'm actually turning 24 soon. Where have all the youth went..

Working so far at HSBC, have been a pleasant and fun experience. I can't imagine where would i head to if i were to leave. It's been great knowing my colleagues that taught me so much and shared so much pleasant times together. My contract is coming to an end soon and i guess that this time, will be the deciding factor. I have thought of it for a very long time and somehow, everything doesn't seemed right. It don't seem like 6months yet it don't feel like 6 months too. Well, whatever!

It's been a rather rollercoaster ride recently. I'm sure that deciding factor will be based on a lot of judgements and also of course prioritising. Which in my opinion, should be based on the government's hiring policy of "only recruiting based on merit, experience, work behaviour and delivery of such" i can't really remember the exact words but just something like based on experience credentials and of such.

The next time i blog, i too hope, will have wonderful and great news to talk about! For now, au revoir et à bientôt.

Singaporeans

  • Jul. 12th, 2008 at 12:01 PM

It always come to the issue of whether or not singaporeans are that rotten as spoken of. We have the class 95 singaporeans habit challenge where glenn and FD will hand out $950 cash to both the best and worst habits of singaporeans. After personally experiencing one of the worst habits of singaporean, glenn thought that was the worst. He had not yet met any disastrous ones. What he went through, i would say was definitely only like a meagre portion. Singaporeans, if you were to do a google, you would have found unlimited resources of people complaining. Are we locals, that ungracious? Yes and no in a way.

All of us were brought up in different ways and manners. We can't really judge from the average population that we come across everyday. If we were to piece everything together, it would be a bad win over the good. For one, whenever something bad happens or crops up, we never fail to not remember it for the rest of the day or even a certain period of time. When something good comes onto us, we take it for granted and somehow, it just fades into the dark. These kind of social etiqutte are what i would most probably say, built-in to us.

Be it at work, leisure or whenever, we never fail to remember bad habits of people. We tend to overwhelm ourselves with the bad and eventually forgotten the goods. My point still stands on the fact that there's this minority group of singaporeans that are definitely ugly inside. Most try to present controversial topics and gossips in a discreet manner, to which we often called "back-stabing". There's also the "must-win, no-lose situations", "freebies" mindset, "bargaining" your way through, "i'm supreme" mindset, "no money no talk" and lots of other more that we ourselves encounter.

By the way, if you head over to the podcasts uploaded by singaporeans, you would have pretty much figured out some points. There's the redundunt entries that tries for the cash since its free and no harm and yet there are also creative entries that depicts what are totally portrayed by the singaporeans now.

Coming back to the topic on whether or not singaporeans are that crap, it still boils down to the fact whether you would take your stand on the dark side. When it comes to this topic, i'm one which definitely not stand on the side of singaporeans. There's not really a strong point that allows me to. For now, http://www.podcast.sg/specials_habitchallenge.asp

Take away and Enjoy!

Emotic

  • Jun. 10th, 2008 at 9:30 PM

As the topic goes.. I'm feeling kinda emo today.. After like countless weeks i'm back blogging one entry.. I'm starting to reminise all the good ol times. Things like polytechnic life and pre-army days kinda feeling. Now, i must think about work, savings, studies and lots of other stuffs which can pretty much get on your nerves. I'm starting to miss alot of things, though i still meet up with my old friends every now and then but i'm still missing out on my home stuffs too. I was just looking at my old photos and they're like so sweet.

The usual gang of people that you usually scream at, talk with, turn to and things like this, are like no longer part and parcel of your life. Life has definitely gone through a different phase. You're expected to take care of yourself, earn a living, studies and stuffs.. Argh.. I wish i'm back to when i was 18.. Time was great..

Study + Army = Torture

  • Jan. 26th, 2008 at 11:19 PM

Trying to do part time studies and serving the nation at the same time is absolutely not an easy thing. I have to go for classes every day excluding monday and the weekends.. Have to really take a lot of time and effort to do my best. I must do well for my studies i tell myself, but then, it never seem to work at all lol.. I try to study but then, it seemed easy to me and in the end, i still forget when attending classes.. I must pick myself back up..

These few holiday season have really left me penniless lol. I have no idea why but expenses seemed to be on the rise and haven't been going down since. Hope the chinese new year can get me some more little allowances to help me through this.. Just can't wait for army to finish but, the overseas trip is seriously putting my mood off for everything..

I just sometimes wonder, why would my unit travel so much just to support exercises.. Each time i think of that, i think of the taxes my family pays.. Woot! Hell lots go to waste lol!
